Reklaim's story began in 2003, when two successful Pacific Northwest entrepreneurs recognized that the ever-growing supply of scrap tires presents serious environmental and public health challenges. Fortunately, they also believed that recovering the chemical constituents of scrap tires and recycling them into commercially valuable products could achieve substantial benefits-both economic and environmental. Committed to that vision, they challenged themselves to develop a technology that offers a new option for managing scrap tires, a technology produces attractive economic returns for businesses and also produces substantial environmental and human health benefits.

Founding Reklaim, these entrepreneurs assembled a top-notch team of scientists, engineers, and construction specialists who shared the dream and sought to perfect a technology that could successfully transition from lab to marketplace. After years of trial, innovation, and millions of dollars' investment, Reklaim has developed a technology that recycles crumb rubber from scrap tires to create carbon black-an in-demand industrial product-and fuel oils.
